Travelling through South America, we stumbled upon a small chocolate museum in the town of Cuzco, Peru offering a chocolate-making class. Attending this class, we learnt about a delicious and nutritious chocolate tea made from cacao husks that was once consumed by the ancient Mayans but had since slipped away into obscurity. Rich in antioxidants and vitamins, cacao husk tea was enjoyed centuries ago by the Mayans for its uplifting qualities and health benefits. The Mayans believed this “hot chocolate of the Gods” would give power to their kings. We wanted to share our love for the tea with others, so have created our very own.
Our husks are all organic and ethically sourced. Our tea is sugar free, higher in antioxidants than both green tea and red wine, and contains various micronutrients and vitamins.
Prepped and packed in our little space in Christchurch, New Zealand.
